I chose family medicine for the breadth of training it gives in preparation, initially, for work overseas as a medical missionary.  I moved my family to Lexington, SC after our time overseas concluded to be closer to my in-laws, and to help build quality care and medical education in one of the largest skilled nursing facilities in the Carolinas. 

Geriatrics is set to take up an ever-larger share of medical practice for future family physicians.  I enjoy learning, teaching, and providing care to this vulnerable population and helping them and their families navigate these challenging transitions in the latter stages of life.
