Residencies

Adult Acute Care

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct patient management in acute care settings.

Critical Care

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct patient management in critical care settings.

Emergency Department

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct care in the hospital’s Emergency Department.

Labor and Delivery

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct care in the hospital’s Labor and Delivery department. 

Operating Room

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct care in the hospital’s main Operating Room.

Physician Network

A one-year program preparing new nurses to provide direct care in our primary care doctors' offices. 

Qualifications

Recent graduation (within the past 12 months) from an accredited nursing school is preferred.

Entry-Level Nurses

Entry-level nurses serving in their first nursing roles are required to participate in the nurse residency program.

Entry-level but not in your first nursing role?

You may participate in the nurse residency program at the discretion of the program leadership team. However, no longer than 12 months may have elapsed from the time of graduation from a pre-licensure nursing program until admission to the nurse residency program.

Ineligible

New graduate RNs who acquire their generic RN education through an online program are not eligible for Lexington Health’s nurse residency program.

Required Certifications and Licensure

All Nurses

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure through South Carolina (or multi-compact state) or Graduate Nurse (GN) licensure through South Carolina

Graduate Nurses

Must pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) by their license expiration date to continue in nurse residency program.
