Apply for a Nurse Residency
Phase 1: Nursing Unit Rotations
You will spend 12 weeks in the Adult Acute Care Division with a preceptor (mentor) who will help you develop your critical thinking and clinical judgement skills.
Shift Rotations
You will work in one night shift rotation and one day shift rotation.
Unit Preferences
You will be asked to provide your unit preferences for rotations one and two. Although we cannot guarantee a particular unit, we do consider future job openings and your preferences.

Phase 2: Home Unit Placement
Upon successful completion of the unit orientation, you will be offered a position in the Adult Acute Care Division.
Shift Details
You will be assigned a day or night shift, depending on staffing needs.
Phase 3: Professional Development Lectures
While working in the home unit, you will attend four lecture classes to continue developing your skills.

Evidence-Based Project
At the one-year mark, you will complete an evidence-based (not research) project as a final assignment for your nurse residency.
Poster Presentation
With the help of your nurse manager and clinical mentor, you will prepare and present a poster of your project to the Unit-Based Practice Committee.
